It is one of the oldest towns on the West Coast of Florida. History
Dunedin is one of the oldest towns in Pinellas County and began as a remote settlement in 1852. It was originally named Jonesboro. Back in 1882, two Scottish immigrants renamed the settlement to Dunedin. The Dunedin name comes from the Scottish-Gaelic form of Edinburgh, Scotland, Dùn Èideann.
